

GTLF, one of the last pillars of free speech in Malaysia, returns in the World UNESCO Heritage site of George Town with its 7th edition to explore and engage in pressing topics in the world we live in today. Themed “Monster & (Im)Mortals”, the festival has invited 60 local and international writers, poets and performers from 20 different countries including A.Samad Said, Azhar Ibrahim, James Shea, Khalid Jaafar, Azizah Zakaria, Dina Zaman, Fahmi Mustaffa, Gunduz Vassaf, Gwen Robinson, Jahabar Sadiq, and many more. It’s the festival’s largest and most ambitious programme to date and will include more than 50 events activities such as a Translators’ Roundtable, panel discussions, book launches, readings and the debut of the Festival Fringe in the evenings. The festival is a 3-day event taking place from 24 - 26 November.
