It was in education that the strongest historical links existed. The French de la Salle brothers, dedicated to the education of the common people, had many schools in Ireland. Sister Aidan Fitzgerald came to Light St. in 1954 and, uncharacteristically, taught Science to the girls for many years before she was transferred to Convent Green Lane.
