Up & Up We Go

Balloon 01.jpg
Looking for some colours in the sky? Although we at INPenang may not be able to predict the weather, we are definitely able to agree that you’ll have a balloon-tastic time at the Penang Hot Air Balloon Fiesta (HAB).  Back for the 3rd edition, the Penang HAB Fiesta will take flight over the Polo Ground during the Chinese New Year Season on 4 & 5 February 2017.
Over the 2-day event balloonists from around the globe will supersize and pump up their balloons to dazzle fiesta-goers. While most of the lift off will only take place after sundown, come early and dive into the various educational workshops, fun activities, free flying balloons and cold inflation suitable for kids and adults.

Past events saw balloons filled the sky shaped after Trump, Darth Vader, Humpty Dumpty, Orange, Zebra and even an Ice Cream Scoop on a cone.

Until today, this...

Make your heritage trail complete by visiting them before these trades fade away. 1. Thana’s Goldsmith Fourth-generation goldsmith M. Raju is the last of his kind in Penang. With a sharp eye for detail, a pair of steady hands and his trusty tools, Raju carries on the time-consuming process of shaping gold into elaborate jewellery. Don’t you dare miss out on the last of custom-made gold trinkets Penang has to offer! 2. Songkok Maker On King Street, Haja Mohideen works his fingers to the bone at the sewing machine tucked away in a quaint little shop. A trade passed to him by his father, he keeps the custom of hand-made songkoks (a stiff cap worn by Muslim men) alive with the assistance of his son-in-law. 3.
